Australia’s drug regulator issues mental health warning for weight-loss drugs, including Ozempic
Australia’s drug regulator issues mental health warning for weight-loss drugs, including Ozempic. Most of the GLP-1 agonist drugs that are used for type 2 diabetes and weight loss, things like Ozempic, wigovian, and Manjaro, these are incredible drugs, and I see
that great things happen with my patients who are overweight or obese or have type 2 diabetes, and it's amazing to see how these drugs impact their lives.
Watch videos to see some people lose 60 to 100 pounds on these drugs and how quickly it improves their happiness and self-esteem
And now they not only make people lose weight and reduce most cravings, but they are also very safe overall; they lower blood pressure
and lower insulin, reduce inflammation, and protect against heart disease. Not to mention the many women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
who are experiencing improvement from these medications? The biggest issue that most people have is the cost, because most insurance plans do not cover them
People usually have to pay out of pocket, which averages out to fifteen hundred dollars, depending on how much you rely on the medication. Two-bedroom apartments are most people can’t afford.
But there is an alternative way to get these medications for a lot less, as long as you know how to go on this Wild West Detour, and when I say Wild West Detour.
I am referring to getting these medications from a compounding pharmacy. Most people don’t understand what people are talking about or talking about.
They can be in a lot of danger if they say they click on a link that takes them to a telemedicine company, and the next thing you know
they're probably having a short telemedicine video consultation with a physician assistant or nurse practitioner that they've met before, and then they're going to prescribe this weight loss medication
which you'll find out in a few days, the prescription medication sits on their doorstep, and they open the box, and it's a vial filled with a liquid containing some medicine called magnetite
which is also known as Ozempic, which is also known as VigRX, or in some cases, they're getting Terzapati, which is also known as Manjaro, so they open the box and take out the syringes and needles
which they then put into the bottle. With this syringe, the liquid and that liquid medicine go into the syringe, then they inject it anywhere in their body where there is fat
They can inject it, so usually it can be injected in the shoulders or even the butt or thighs s where it can actually be injected if you don't have any fat in your body
So it's important to make this mark in your body. There's something wrong with that. It's up to you to get people to get their hands on these medications. Some patients are looking for telehealth platforms, medical spas, and compounding pharmacies
These are skilled as generic versions of these medications, but the company that makes somaglitide, which is the company Novo Nordisk, and they don't compound for some pharmacies.
There are no FDA-approved drugs. There are about 7,500 compounding pharmacies in the United States. Compounding involves mixing and altering medications.
Basically, it is about customizing a medication for a patient to meet their specific needs. For example, someone who is allergic to an ingredient in the medication may need a modified version.
For example, if someone needs a medication, they need a specific medication to go with it. Okay. Compounding pharmacies will modify the dosage to suit the patient's needs. Compounding pharmacies have been doing this long before Ozempic in Manjaro came out.
Because the FDA is currently shortlisting Ozempic and Manjaro, that means compounding pharmacies are allowed to buy these drugs from pharmacies that are able to repackage them.
The drugs they dispense are what they will usually do with these compounding pharmacies; they usually also mix them with vitamin B6 or vitamin B12, or a metabolic compound called L-Carnitine.
There has been limited research that has shown to play a role in weight loss, but when it comes to vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, their potential effects can be completely overstated.
The FDA has listed the drugs that are currently in short supply as of the time of this video, but there are a few more I want to emphasize
that all compounders and pharmacies are distributing a different active ingredient called somaglutide sodium, which is the salt form of somaglutide that some regulators have recently raised concerns about.
Sometimes magnetized sodium, sold as a research chemical, does not meet federal law’s standards for compounding because the substance is not part of any FDA-approved drug.
And the reason it is getting the attention of government officials is that the FDA does not test compounded drugs and does not review them for safety in the same way that magnetized sodium is reviewed.
Now, let's offer that many compounding pharmacies out there take excellent care of patients every single day, but in late April of this year
the FDA, as well as the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, have some bad actors who are aware that compounders are now using salt forms of simeglutide
when some magnesite dissolves in water so much that the simeglutide molecule releases some magnesite and a very small amount of sodium, but no data shows
whether some magnesium sodium is safe for consumers or even effective, but it may not be, as we don't know just by their statement that they are saying that the drug manufacturers have become aware
that they are using magnesite sodium legally. Actions are underway to combat this practice, so Novo Nordic is now taking action
, but not limited to, issuing letters against entities that are involved in the illegal sale of the compound somagotide or spreading false advertising
and infringing its trademarks, but some of these pharmacies are trying to compound. Actors who are trying to avoid the market
They are trying to meet the huge demand of many people, whether it is type 4 diabetes or obesity, so if you are going to get these drugs together from a pharmacy
then make sure you are getting it from a legitimate drug, and I am going to give you four tips to make sure that the tip board license is number one. Experienced with these drugs is
who is suggesting you Tip number two. Under federal law, a compounding pharmacy can only compound drug products with active ingredients that come from facilities registered with the FDA
So make sure the compounder and pharmacy are registered with the FDA. Tip number three is to make sure you are not getting something megylated.
Some magnetite, so if it is sodium, do not go with it, and finally, my recommendation number four is to ask this very important question: Is the compounding pharmacy licensed to ship sterile compounds to all 50 states
Because if the answer is yes, you can feel much better about the medication that is being shipped to your door if we are interested in your home. Metabolic Health and you want my advice I'm going to put a link here or maybe it's on this side I'm not sure I'm going to put a link
on the screen for you to click on and there you can actually book an appointment and if you want to learn more about
how these drugs affect the body and how they work in the body I highly recommend checking out this video here.
